J. M. Barrie was a Scottish author who is best known for creating the ageless wonder, Peter Pan. He moved to London to continue to pursue his career as an author and dramatist, and there he would meet the primary influence for the story about Peter Pan: the Llewelyn Davies family. He first them while on a walk in London's Kensington Gardens. Barrie would frequently tell stories to the Davies boys (George, John, Peter, Michael, and Nicolas) to entertain them, sometimes using them as the characters, an act that would ultimately inspire his most famous work.
Notable Works
Aside from his four major Peter Pan-themed works (The Little White Bird, Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, Peter and Wendy), he was also responsible for several notable plays like What Every Woman Knows (1908), A Kiss for Cinderella (1916), Mary Rose (1920).
