About Ian Botham
Ian Terence Botham or Baron Botham as he was called was an English cricket player and became a cricket commentator. Both his parents had been influential cricket players.
Personal Life
He fell in love with cricket before he was five and loved to watch people play. He schooled at Milford Junior School and started playing both cricket and football before he was ten. He played with those older than him and that made him better. He later joined the Boys’ Brigade. After meeting in 1974, he went on to marry Kathryn Waller two years later. They became the parents of three children. Apart from sports, he’s a good fisherman.
Career
He was part of the Cricket World Cup in three different editions; 1979, 1983 and 1992. He also played football in 1978 for a while. He diverted his attention to the media after he quit cricket. He was a commentator and analyst for Sky Sports.
Trivia
He is believed to be color blind.
