Herbie Hancock is an award-winning American jazz musician, pianist, composer and actor who began his career in 1961 and grew into one of the finest jazz musicians of his time . His most famous compositions include Watermelon from his 1962 debut album Takin' Off and Maiden Voyage from his 1965 album Maiden Voyage.
Personal Life
He married Gigi Hancock in 1968. He and Gigi have a daughter named Jessica Hancock.
Awards
He won an Academy Award in 1986 for his soundtrack album Round Midnight. From 1984 to 2011, he won a total of 14 Grammy Awards.
Trivia
His 2007 album entitled River: The Joni Letters is the second jazz album to ever win a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
