Herbert Hoover was an American politician. He served as the 31st President of the United States. He is the only one, along with President William Howard Taft, who was elected as President without having high military rank. He was also the only one, along with John F. Kennedy, who redistributed his salary. He was an engineer.
His Legacy
During the Great Depression, he increased the taxes and unemployment rose to afflict one in four American people. He is ranked lower than average among all the U.S. Presidents.

He was married to First Lady Lou Henry and they had 2 children.
