Henry VIII of England was the second monarch of the royal Welsh and English Tudor Dynasty, succeeding his father Henry VII, who previously held the Lordship of Ireland before rising to Kingship. During his reign, he was most known for his disputes with the Pope that led to him separating the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church, although his faith was not affected by the excommunication.
