Personal Life
He was born to Edmund Alberts Bateman by Dorothy Cassidy. He was one of the seven children his parents had. He was enrolled in Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School. There, he joined the drama club and became the president. He went on to study at Catholic University of America. In 1966, he became the husband of Joan Geiger and together, they had three sons.
Career
In 1963, he featured in his first acting role as a college student in “The Nutty Professor”. In the following year, he played the role of Smith in “Kiss Me, Stupid” and in 1968, he was in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” but was not credited. Other shows he has been in include “The Last Remake of Beau Geste” as General Pecheur, “The Incredible Shrinking Woman” where he was cast as Dr. Eugene Nortz, “Monster in the Closet” where he was Dr Pennyworth, “Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day” where he was Robinson and “Tom and Jerry: The Movie” where he voiced Dr. Applecheek.
Death
In 2009, after battling with cancer, he died.
