About Henrik Zetterberg

Hailing from Sweden, Henrik Zetterberg is an ex-ice hockey player. He played as a forward. He spent all his NHL career playing for the Detroit Red Wings. In 1999, he was drafted by the said team in the NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to joining the Red Wings in 2002, he began his career at Timrå IK from 1997 to 2002. At the end of his career, Zetterberg played a total of 1,227 games (NFL and SEL), scored 381 goals (NFL and SEL), and registered assists of 707 (NFL and SEL).

International career

On the international stage, he played 86 games, netted 22 goals, and assisted 41 times for both the junior and senior Swedish national hockey teams. He represented his nation at the 2002 Winter Olympics, the 2006 IIHF World Championship, the 2006 Winter Olympics, and the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Awards

In 2001, he was elected as the SHL Rookie of the Year. In 2002 and 2005, he was selected into the All-Star Team. Again, he won the 2002 Guldpucken Award. Zetterberg was selected into the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2003.

In 2008, he was selected into the Second All-Star Team, won the Conn Smythe Trophy as well as the Stanley Cup. Additionally, he won the 2013 NHL Foundation Player Award. He again won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2015.

At the national level, he won the 1998 IIHF European Junior Championships gold medal, the 2006 Winter Olympics gold medal, the 2006 Ice Hockey World Championships gold medal, and the 2014 Winter Olympics silver medal with Sweden.
