After she started playing the piano, she began to work with Pierre Barbizet. Grimaud then got an invite from Daniel Barenboim to put up a performance with Orchestre de Paris. In 1989, she worked on “Schumann Kreisleriana, Brahms Piano Sonata No. 2” and in 1993, she put together “Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2, Ravel Piano Concerto”. Grimaud has also worked on “Brahms Piano Concertos Nos 1 & 2” with the Bavarian Radio SO and Vienna PO.
Personal Life
The French star is officially named Hélène Rose Paule Grimaud. Her father is known for working as a college tutor. Grimaud fell in love with playing the piano when she was just seven years old. As she got older, she got into Conservatoire de Paris.
Achievements
She was the receiver of an award after she recorded Piano Sonata No. 2 by Rachmaninoff. She has also earned the National Order of Merit from France in 2008 and Legion of Honour about seven years later in 2015.
Trivia
She is known to be experiencing synaesthesia, which makes her see music as colors. In Grimaud’s case, this has helped her in her music career.
