Family Life
He was the son of Paula and William Bloom. He grew up with an older brother and three older sisters. In 1958, he married Jeanne Gould, with whom he fathered two children.
Trivia
In 2004, popular writer Naomi Wolf accused him of sexual "encroachment" after she alleged that he once touched her thigh. Bloom denied the allegation saying that he had never been indoors with her all his life.
