He came into the limelight following the success of his single "Sally Was a Good Old Girl." Cochrane began his career in the 1960s as a songwriter. He wrote hundreds of songs, many of which became huge hits.
Cochran authored and co-wrote many memorable hit songs for country performers like Eddy Arnold, Patsy Cline, George Jones, and Norah Jones.
