Gus Malzahn is a former college football player and coach. He is known for serving as a head coach for several college football teams.
Between 2013 and 2020 he coached the football team of Auburn University. Before that, he worked at Arkansas State University, as their head coach.
He began serving as a head coach of the football team of University of Central Florida on February 15, 2021.
He has also worked as an offensive coordinator at the University of Tulsa.
Education
Malzahn studied at Fort Smith Christian High School in Arkansas. He continued at the University of Arkansas and before obtaining a degree in physical education at Henderson State University.
Family
In 1988 he tied the knot with Kristi Malzahn. Their daughters are named Kenzie and Kylie.
Achievements
Malzahn’s outstanding work as a coach has earned him numerous high profile awards including the “Home Depot Coach of the Year” and “SEC Coach of the Year” in 2013. He was honored with the Broyles Award in 2010.
During his time as head coach of Auburn University, he led his team to victory at the 2013 SEC Championship.

He began his coaching career as a defensive coordinator in 1991 at Hughes High School.
