About Grigori Rasputin
Grigori Rasputin was a Russian peasant, religious wanderer and mystical faith healer known for his friendship with Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna. His association with the Tsar turned him into an influential figure in Russian politics and according to many historians, contributed to the unpopularity of the Imperial Family. He was assassinated in 1916 and his corpse dumped into the Malaya Nevka River.
Family Life
He was the fifth of nine children born to Anna Parshukova and Efim Vilkin Rasputin. He married Praskovia Fyodorovna Dubrovina in 1887 and fathered five children with her.
Trivia
He was believed to have the ability to heal through prayer and "cured" the hemophilia of Alexei, the son of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna.
