American actor and comedian Alexander Gordon Jump was known for his funny roles and clueless behavior in movies. He rose to fame after appearing in "Get Smart" in 1996, where he played the role of Hobson.
Early Life and Education
The actor was born in a humble Christian home. He enrolled at the Centerville High School, where he graduated and attended Otterbein College. Jump later transferred to Kansas State University and graduated with a degree in Broadcasting and communication. He ventured into the acting scene in 1963 to pursue his passion.
Career
The actor made his professional debut in 1965 in the movie "Marriage- What Kind For You?". He gained popularity and continued appearing in numerous movies such as "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" in 1972, "The Fury" in 1978 and "A Dog's Tale" in 1999. He was also present in the world of Television series, appearing in shows such as "Lancer" in 1968, "Switch" in 1975 and "Baywatch" in 1994.
Personal Life
The actor first married Olinda D. Kandt from 1954 but divorced in 1962 and later married Anna F. Inge Jump in 1963 and divorced in 1992. Finally he married Betty McKeever in 1993. The actor died in 2003 from respiratory failure and was survived by 5 children.
