About Gloria Steinem
She is an American journalist, feminist and political activist. From the late 1960s to the late 1970s, she rose to national prominence when she appeared as a leader and spokesperson for an American feminist movement.
She became a columnist for New York magazine and co-founded "Ms. Magazine". She published an article titled "After Black Power, Women's Liberation" in 1969, which gave her a national recognition as a feminist leader.
Family Life
She was born to Jewish father and Presbyterian mother. She got married to David Bale in 2,000 but he died in 2003.
Her parents are Leo and Ruth Steinem. Gloria's paternal grandmother, who goes by the name Pauline Steinem, is noted to have been a chairwoman of the educational committee which was present at the International Council of Women in 1908.
Achievements
She won the "Humanist of the Year" at the American Humanist Association in 2012.
In 2014, she earned DVF Lifetime Leadership Award.

She was once listed by Biography magazine as one of America's 25 most influential women.
