Glenn McGrath is a retired Australian professional cricketer. He was an international cricketer for fourteen years. McGrath had exceptional qualities as a bowler and is widely considered among Australia’s greatest bowlers. He was a significant contributor to the reign of Australia in the cricket sport during the mid-1990s and late-2000s.
Background & Early Life
He was raised in Narromine, Australia. However, during the early parts of his life, he relocated to Sydney, where he played grade cricket at Sutherland.
In 1992, he played his first game for the New South Wales cricket team. After his first eight first-class games, he was selected to play in a test team for the Australia men’s national cricket team.
Professional Career Highlights
In 2000, he played in the English County Championship with Worcestershire. He then played several games with Middlesex during the 2004 season.
From 2008 until his retirement in 2010, he played in the Indian premier league with Delhi Daredevils.
He is an ICC Hall of Famer.
International Career
He played numerous games for the Australia national cricket team and retired after he helped the team win the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
Philanthropy
He is the president of “McGrath Foundation,” an organization that has supported over 30,000 Australian women in education and breast cancer.
