About Glenn Hoddle
Glenn Hoddle started playing when he was very young and joined Tottenham Hotspur at the age of 12 years. Five years later, he made his first-team appearance for the club. During his 12 years stay at the club, he won two FA Cups, and the UEFA Cup in 1984. He also played for a number of teams such as Chelsea, Monaco, and Swindon Town.
International career
Widely considered as one of the most talented English players of all time, Hoddle featured for his country’s senior team 53 times. Used as a midfielder, he played in the FIFA World Cup and the European Championship with the English team.
As a coach
After his playing career, he began working as a coach. In his managerial career, he’s best known for his time with his former team Tottenham Hotspur which he joined in 2001. That aside, he has coached a number of high-profile teams like Chelsea, Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Swindon Town.
Other works
He has further gained admirers for his punditry works. He has appeared on many television networks including BT Sport, ESPN, and ITV Sport. Aside from his work in the soccer scene, he has also pursued a career in the music industry. He released a song in 1987 which was titled "Diamond Lights'".
Personal Life
He’s the senior brother of soccer star Carl Hoddle who died in 1996. His three kids with Christine Ann Stirling are Jamie, Zara, and Zoe. He has also been married to Vanessa Colburn.
