About Gene Hoglan
Gene Hoglan began his career with the Slayer band but rose to stardom with the thrash metal group known as Dark Angel which he joined in 1984. As the drummer and songwriter of the group, he has played leading roles in the production of some of the collective’s successful albums including “Darkness Descends” and “Time Does Not Heal”.
That aside, the American musician has worked with other musical groups such as Fear Factory, Testament and Strapping Young Lad.

His parents supported him during the early stages of his career.
Recognitions
In 2010, he was nominated for the Modern Drummer magazine’s “Best Metal Drummer” award. That same year, he won a reader’s poll for the “Best Metal Drummer of the Year” which was conducted by Terrorizer magazine.
Trivia
As an artist, he published his first collection in 2017.
He appeared on the finals of the season two of the television series “The Eric Andre Show”.
This drummer was influenced by Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio and Peter Criss.
