He completed his elementary education at a private school before attending high school in Lewisville, Texas. Ashlyn Casalegno, his sister, is also an actress. During his youth, he attended numerous acting workshops in Lewisville, Texas. He dated dancer Larsen Thompson.
Career
Casalegno’s interest in acting began at a young age. He landed his first stage role at the age of seven. In the same year, he made his television debut in a Papa John's Pizza commercial. His first major role on television, however, was in an episode of the TV series “Chase” in 2010. In the same year, he also appeared in an episode of the TV series “Lone Star” and the 2012 religious movie “I Am Gabriel”. In the latter, which was directed by Mike Norris, he played the titular character, starring alongside Dean Cain, Elise Baughman, Jenn Gotzon, and Carey Scott.
Since then, he has appeared in feature films such as Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" in which he co-starred with Academy Award-winners such as Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins, as well as Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly.
He appeared as "Young Damon" in an episode of "The Vampire Diaries", as well as in numerous commercials and print campaigns for national retailers and magazines.
His other projects include "The Iceman" (2012), "When The Game Stands Still" (2014), "A Taylor Story" (2016), "The Unhealer" (2016), and "Nine Seconds" (2017).
