About Floyd Landis
Floyd Landis’ biggest claim to fame as a former professional road racing cyclist was winning the 2006 edition of the highly distinguished Tour de France bicycle race. Unfortunately, it was also the event that ended up bringing a premature end to his cycling career. Having started out as an amateur mountain biker, he made the move to road cycling in 1999 and in 2002, joined the U.S. Postal Service cycling team as the domestique of disgraced former cyclist Lance Armstrong. He lost his 2006 Tour de France title after investigations proved that he had used performance-enhancing drugs.
Family Life
He was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania by his parents, Arlene and Paul Davis. He was married to Amber Landis from 2001 to 2009. He has a son named Ryan.
Trivia
He is also known for having been an influential whistleblower for Lance Armstrong’s doping case.
