About Flea
Flea is an Australian-born American musician famed for being the bassist and one of the founders of the Grammy Award-winning funk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers (The Chili Peppers). In 2012, he and the other members of The Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Aside from his work with The Chili Peppers, he is also known for his work with a number of bands, including Jane's Addiction and Atoms for Peace.
Family Life
He was born to Patricia and Mick Balzary. He got married to his first wife Loesha Zeviar in 1988. The marriage produced a daughter and ended in 1990. His second marriage was to model Frankie Rayder in 2005. The marriage also produced a child before ending in divorce.
Trivia
He got his famous nickname "Flea" during his childhood years simply because he was rarely found sitting still.
He was a close friend of the late actor River Phoenix, and was with him the fateful night he tragically died from an overdose.
