About Ferdinand Porsche
Ferdinand Porsche was a renowned Austro-Hungarian automobile engineer remembered for creating a number of famous cars including the Lohner-Porsche (the Lohner-Porsche Mixte Hybrid), the Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK and the Volkswagen Beetle, which is regarded as one of the greatest car designs of all time. He founded the Porsche car company in 1931. Several decades after his death, he received a posthumous induction into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
Family Life
He was married to Aloisia Johanna Kaes from 1903 to 1951. He and Aloisia had two children: Louisa and Ferry Porsche.
Trivia
He created the Volkswagen Beetle after Adolf Hitler contracted him in 1934 to design and build a cheap and simple car for the people of Germany.
As one of Adolf Hitler's favorite engineers, he designed numerous tanks for the Nazis during the Second World War. His close relationship with Adolf Hitler and other Nazi party authorities eventually saw him become a member of the party. He even allegedly went on to become a member of the notorious SS.
