Esperanza Spalding is a multiple Grammy Award-winning American jazz singer, bassist and songwriter whose debut album titled Junjo came out in 2006. She went on to gain international stardom with her follow-up albums Esperanza, Chamber Music Society and Radio Music Society.
Awards
Between 2011 and 2014, she won four Grammy Awards, one Soul Train Music Award and one Boston Music Award.
Upon winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2011, she became the first jazz artist to achieve that feat.
