Erica Jong is an American writer and poet whose controversial 1973 novel titled “Fear of Flying” has recorded over 20 million sales worldwide.
Aside from the aforementioned book, Jong has gone on to publish many interesting literary works including the non-fiction “Fear of Fifty: A Midlife Memoir” which was released in 1994.
Her 2009 poem collection “Love Comes First” has also been regarded as one of her most popular works.
Family
The writer is one of the children of Eda Mirsky and Seymour Mann. She was raised together with two sisters. In 1989, she married her fourth husband named Kenneth David Burrows. She has also been married to American author Jonathan Fast, and Allan Jong, a psychiatrist. Her daughter Molly Jong-Fast is also known to be an author.
Education
She studied at Barnard College, and also The High School of Music & Art.
Accolades
Her numerous honors include the Fernanda Pivano Award, the United Nations Award For Excellence In Literature, and the Bess Hokin Prize by the Poetry Magazine.
