Emiliano Zapata was a Mexican general. He was a leader in the Mexican Revolution and the founder of Zapatismo.
His Legacy
His influence still continues in revolutionary areas in south Mexico. He has actually done more for his ideals in death than he did in real life! In 1952, Marlon Brando played him in the film "Viva Zapata!", while tha band Rage Against the Machine have mentioned him in their lyrics, thus supporting the Zapatistas.

His Personal Life
He was murdered by Jesús Guajardo's men in 1919.
