Personal Life
Edwin Jackson Jr was the son of Edwin Jackson Sr who offered his service in the United States Army. As a young boy, he was relocated to the United States where he was enrolled in Shaw High School. While there, he joined the baseball team and was an instrumental part of the squad.
Career
He was first selected, in 2003, by the Los Angeles Dodgers and was part of them for about two years before moving on to play for Tampa Bay Rays in 2006. He was part of the team for two years.
In 2009, he joined the Detroit Tigers and represented them during the All-Star Game. In that same year, he got traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks and set some records with them including becoming the first African American to throw a no-hitter since Dwight Gooden did in 1996.
He moved on to play for the Chicago White Sox in 2010 before leaving to play for the St. Louis Cardinals. He has also played for Washington Nationals then Chicago Cubs among others.
