About Eddie House
Edward Lee House, popularly known as Eddie House in the world of basketball, is a former basketball player who played either as a shooting guard and a point guard.
Background and Education
The Berkeley, California-born basketball player began his high school education in James Logan High School in Union, California. He transferred during his freshman year to Hayward High School and graduated in 1969. Having received a full scholarship, he proceeded to Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.
Basketball Career
In a career that spanned more than a decade, the 6’ 1” basketball player played for nine teams, including Miami Heat, LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics.
The former Miami Heat player was an all-time scoring leader at Arizona State University. He was drafted by the Miami Heat in the 2000 NBA draft. He played with them for three seasons. He left to play with the Los Angeles Clippers for one year.
The shooting guard then signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Nets in 2006. He played with them for a year and signed a new contract with the Boston Celtics in 2007.
House also played for the Celtics for a year and re-signed a two-year contract with them as a player's option. He ended his career with the Miami Heat in 2011.
His post-playing years have seen him work as an analyst for NBC Sports Boston.
Achievements
He was part of the Celtic team that won the 2008 NBA championship.
House was Pac-10 player of the year in 2010.
Personal life
In 2000, he tied the wedding knot with Charlsie Bibby, the sister of Mike Bibby, a former teammate of House. The pair, who had three children together, later got divorced.
His parents are Edward House and Deborah Buck. He has two siblings – Diallo and Mychal.
