Ed Harris is an American actor and director whose best known film characters are John Glenn in The Right Stuff, William Walker in Walker, Gen. Francis X. Hummel in The Rock, William Parcher in A Beautiful Mind and John McCain in Game Change. He made his directorial debut in the 2000 film Pollock.
Family Life
He is the son of Margaret and actor Bob L. Harris. He married actress Amy Madigan in 1983. The marriage produced a daughter named Lily Dolores Harris in 1993.
Awards
He won his first Golden Globe Award in 1998 for his role in The Truman Show. He won another Golden Globe Award for his performance in the 2012 film Game Change. In 2015, he was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
