About Eartha Kitt
Eartha Kitt came into the spotlight in 1943 after she joined the entertainment group called Katherine Dunham Company. During her time with the group, she recorded lots of hit singles comprising, "Champagne Taste", "Let's Do It" and "Just an Old Fashioned Girl".
However, her breakthrough came in 1950 when she was given her first acting role in the stage play titled “Dr. Faustus” where she played the character of Helen of Troy. She has also appeared in lots of television movies and series like “The Serpent Warriors”, “Boomerang” and “Harriet the Spy”.
Family
She was raised by her mum called Annie Mae Keith. She married John W. McDonald in 1960 – the marriage lasted for five years and produced a child called Kitt McDonald.
Achievements
She was honored by the ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ in 1960.
Death
She suffered from colon cancer, which eventually killed her in 2008.
Trivia
In order to help the less privileged, the late actress founded the Kittsville Youth Foundation in 1966.
