About Dynamite Kid
Dynamite Kid was the ring moniker of the late professional wrestler Thomas Billington from Britain. He made his ring debut in 1975 in England where he competed in the British Lightweight Championship and the British Welterweight Championships.
He also wrestled in Canada with Stampede Wrestling and in Japan with International Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. His United States debut came in 1983 with Pacific Northwest Wrestling. He became famous in the U.S. during his time with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1984 to 1988.
Family Life
He was born into the famous British Billington family which is known for having produced state executioners, combat sportsmen and professional wrestlers. He was married to Michelle Smadu, a Canadian woman who also bore him three children, from 1982 to 1991. In 1997, he married Dot.
Achievements
He was inducted into the Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Stampede Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Trivia
He died on the same day he turned 60. Prior to his death, he had suffered paralysis and a stroke.
