About Dwight Yoakam
Country musician Dwight David Yoakam began performing in the late 1970s. With time, he garnered a fandom while playing in rock bands in the early 1980s. His debut solo project, “Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.” was released in 1986. His fifth album “The Time”, remains one of his most commercially-successful albums.
Family Life
His father, David Yoakam, owned a gas station while his mother Ruth Ann worked as a key-punch operator. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio. He has a son named Dalton with Emily Joyce, whom he married in 2020.
Achievements
He is an inductee of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He also won a Grammy Award in 1994 and 1999.
Trivia
He is the musical guest to have appeared the most times on “The Tonight Show”.
He completed his studies at Northland High School in the year 1974. He dropped out of the Ohio State University in 1977 in order to pursue a career in music.
