About Douglas Adams
Douglas Adams was an English writer best known for the comedy science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was originally a BBC radio comedy pitched by Adams that started in 1978 before he wrote the first of what would become a 5-installment book series (1979, 1980, 1982, 1984, and 1992).
Other Works
Adams wrote the humorous detective novels Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (1987) and its sequel The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul (1988). He was also the co-presenter and co-writer of the BBC radio documentary series Last Chance to See and its accompanying book in 1990.
Trivia
Adams was the first person to buy a Mac in Europe and has been loyal to the brand until his death. He was a spokesperson for Apple, among other notable celebrities like John Cleese.
