About Don Mincher
In August 1964, Don Mincher became one of the few baseball players to hit a homerun out of a stadium.
Career
After graduating from high school, Mincher joined the Chicago White Sox before getting traded to the Minnesota Twins. In his first seven years, he scored over 20 home runs. He also played for the California Angels, Seattle Pilots, Oakland Athletics and the Texas Rangers.
Mincher was also the first president of the minor league teams, Huntsville Stars and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Achievements
He was a two-time All-Star in 1967 and 1969. He was also a World Series champion in 1972. In 2008, Mincher was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
