About Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera was a famous Mexican painter who specialized in a form of mural painting known as frescoes. He is credited with the establishment of a mural painting movement in Mexico and some parts of the world.
Family life
His parents were Maria del Pilar Barrientos and Diego Rivera Acosta. He had a twin brother called Carlos who died when he was only two years.
He married his first wife (in 1911), Angelina Beloff, an artist who gave birth to their son named Diego.
In 1918, he had a daughter, Marika, with Russian painter, Maria Vorobieff-Stebelska.
He married Guadalupe Marin, a novelist and model, in 1922 and had two daughters named Ruth and Guadalupe with her. He later married Frida Kahlo, a famous Mexican painter, who was then an art student, in 1929.
Trivia
He identified as an atheist and became a member of an occult organization known as AMORC in 1926.
