He attended Washington Union High School, where he won the state basketball championship during his junior year. He later joined “Kansas Jayhawks” during the fall of his last year in high school.
Career Highlights
In 2000 just after he completed high school, Utah Jazz picked him during the 2000 NBA draft. From 2000 until he announced his official retirement in 2016, he played for six NBA teams: Utah Jazz (2000–2004), Orlando Magic (2004–2005), Washington Wizards (2005–2010), Dallas Mavericks (2010–2011), New Jersey Nets (2011–2012) and Atlanta Hawks (2012–2013). He often played as a guard and forward and recorded 5,930 points in his NBA career.
In 2010, after signing with Dallas Mavericks, he became the first player in NBA history to wear a number 92 jersey. He was part of the Mavericks team that beat the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals to clinch the 2011 NBA championship.
Relationships
He was previously engaged to TV star Ariane Williams, who featured on the popular reality show, “Basketball Wives LA”.
