About Derrick Brooks
Derrick Brooks started gaining attention in 1995 when he was drafted into the National Football League. He joined the league as a player of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he spent his entire 13 years stay in the league. He was mostly used as a linebacker. With the team, he won the Super Bowl in 2002, and was selected into the Pro Bowl on eleven separate occasions.

Upon announcing his retirement in 2010, Brooks began working as a broadcaster. He’s widely known for his work with media networks like ESPN, and Sirius NFL Radio.
He became the co-owner of the Tampa Bay Storm in 2011. The team, which played in the Arena Football League, folded in 2017.

He has been married to a lady known as Carol with whom he fathers four kids.
Education
Brooks studied at the Washington High School which is located in Florida’s Pensacola. Between 1992 and 1994, he played for the football team of Florida State University.
Honors
He won the NFL’s “Defensive Player of the Year” award in 2002. He has also been decorated with many accolades which include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor, and the Bart Starr Award.
In 2014, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Seven years before that, he was selected into the Florida High School Athletic Association All-Century Team.
Trivia
For his performance, the Buccaneers have retired his number 55 shirt.
He’s known to be a believer of the Christian faith.
