About Derek Fisher
Derek Fisher is an American basketball coach and retired player whose playing career in the NBA began in 1996 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Upon his departure from the Lakers in 2004, he went on to play for such teams as the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He began his coaching career in 2014 with the New York Knicks.
Family Life
He is the younger brother of former professional basketball player Duane Washington. He got married to a woman named Candace in 2005 and fathered four children with her.
Achievements
He received the 1996 Sun Belt Player of the Year award. Between 2000 and 2010, he helped the Los Angeles Lakers win five NBA championships.
Trivia
In 2009, he took out a temporary restraining order against a female stalker, who had been stalking him for several years. The stalker went as far as claiming that she was married to him.
