About Dej Loaf
Deja Trimble, popularly known as Dej Loaf, is a renowned American rapper, singer and songwriter whose career received widespread recognition with the release of her single, “Try Me”, which hit number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The track later received a Gold certification by the RIAA in April 2015.
She started writing music at age 9 and released her first mixtape, “Just Do It” in 2013. As she gained attention with the release, she signed a record deal with IBGM.
She later signed a major recording deal with Columbia Records in 2014 and released her second mixtape called, “Sell Sole”.
Family Life
Her father was murdered when she was four, thus she was raised by her mother and grandmother who influenced her musically.
Achievements
Her 2014 single “Try Me” shot her to fame, as rapper Drake posted a section of its lyrics on Instagram. The song reached number 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts.
She was listed as part of the 2015 XXL Freshman Class.

She played basketball during her days at the Southeastern High School in Detroit.

Her stage name is a combination of a shortened version of her first name (Dej), and her love for Air Jordans (loafer).
