Hailing from Puerto Rico, Dayanara Torres, is a talented writer, model, and actress. She started professional modeling at the age of 17 when she participated in the Miss Puerto Rico pageant. In 1992, Torres was a semi-finalist and a first runner-up at the Miss International pageant, and the Queen of the World contest, respectively.
Acting career
As an actress, she made her screen debut in 1994 in the film “Linda Sara” where she was cast as Young Sara. Other films and series she has been featured in include “Basta’t Kasama Kita”, “The Nail: The Story of Joey Nardone”, “The Young and the Restless”, and “Watch Over Me”.
Writing career
As a writer, the first book Torres co-wrote was titled “Sonrisas Sanas y Hermosas de Ricky y Andrea” which was published in 2006. Other books of hers include “Casada Conmigo Misma: Como Triunfé Despues Del Divorcio”.
Family
She is the offspring of Luz Delgado and José Torres López. Her three siblings are Jeannette Torres Delgado, Joey Torres Delgado, and José Torres Delado. Her children’s names are Ryan Adrian Muñiz, and Cristian Marcus Muñiz. In 2000, she got married to Marc Anthony but divorced him in 2004.
Awards
She was the winner of the 2006 and 2007 Premios Juventud Awards. In 1993, she was crowned Miss Universe. That same year, she won Miss Puerto Rico. She was also the winner of the Mira Quien Baila.
