Dayana Mendoza is a Venezuelan international model who gained global attention after she was crowned Miss Universe in 2008. A year before that, she won the Miss Venezuela contest which earned her a ticket to compete on the international stage.
She began her career in 2001 when she competed in the Elite Model Look International contest. As one of the semifinalists, she earned a contract with Elite Model Management. The partnership opened doors for her to work in countries like France, Germany, and the United States.
Her fame and talent have earned her deals with a number of top fashion brands including Roberto Cavalli, and Versace.
Other works
Aside from modeling, she has also pursued a career in the movie industry as an actress and filmmaker. Her first acting role came in 2009 when she featured in the film titled “Sweet Misery”. She further appeared in the 2013 film “The Mermaid Complex”. She also worked on the film “Honey” as a producer.
Private Life
She was born in Venezuela to Laura Moncada and Willy Mendoza. In 2013, she married a gentleman called Michael Pagano and had their first child three years later.
Trivia
She and Stefanía Fernández entered into the Guinness Book of World Records after the latter won the Miss Universe in 2009. They became the first contestants from the same country to win the contest back-to-back.
She was also represented by Trump Model Management at a stage in her career.
