About David Shore
Canadian TV writer David Shore has worked on several shows, including “NYPD Blue” and “Due South.” He also created the medical drama TV series “House”, as well as “The Good Doctor” and “Battle Creek.”
Early Life
Shore grew up in a Jewish family in Ontario, Canada. He attended the University of Western Ontario and later the University of Toronto for a law degree. He initially worked as a lawyer before moving to Los Angeles to work as a TV writer.
Writing Career
He worked on numerous shows while in the United States, but firmly established himself as a writer when he wrote the award-winning TV series “House.” Following his success with the series, he worked on other projects, including “Sneaky Pete”, “The Good Doctor”, and “Winters.” The latter starred Dutch actress Famke Beumer Janssen.
Awards and Recognition
Shore has been recognized for his works in television and has received awards the following awards:
- 2005 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing;
- 2010 Writers Guild of America Award for Best Episode;
- and then 2020 & 2021 Canadian Screen Awards.
Personal Life
He married Judy Shore and the couple has three children as of 2021. In 2010, they moved to a home around the Pacific Palisades.
Fun Facts
Shore was once a stand-up comedian and was named “The Funniest Person in London.”
His favorite TV show is "The Rockford Files".
