About David Ruffin
David Ruffin was a soul singer best known for being one of the lead singers of the band The Temptations from 1964 to 1968. He sang lead vocals on some of the group’s biggest hits such as My Girl and Ain't Too Proud to Beg.
Personal Life
He was married twice. He married his first wife Sandra Barnes in 1961 and had three daughters with her. His second marriage was to Joy Hamilton in 1976. He had a fourth child with his girlfriend Genna Sapia.
Achievements
In 1989, as a member of The Temptations, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2008, Rolling Stone magazine added him to its list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.
Trivia
He died of a cocaine overdose in 1991.
