About David Kennedy
The story of David Anthony Kennedy was a short and tragic one. The young lad was the fourth of eleven children of the former United States Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. This means that he was the nephew of U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
Early Life and Education
Kennedy lived most of his youth in Washington and was born to Robert F. and Ethel Kennedy. Although he grew up quite shy and introverted, the young Kennedy had a strong bond with his father. He enrolled in the Middlesex School and later pursued history at Harvard but dropped out in 1976.
Highlights of Life
Kennedy grew up escaping the clutches of death numerous times. He wasn't so lucky in 1973 when he was involved in a car accident with his girlfriend and older brother. The accident left his girlfriend, Pamell Kelley, paralyzed, and he also sustained a fracture in his vertebrae.
Battle with Drugs
Kennedy developed excessive drug use during his recovery process in hopes of dealing with the pain. He became addicted to painkillers and later upgraded to the use of heroin. He was later diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis, which caused inflammation in his heart. Regardless, he continued to abuse the drug unabatedly from 1976 to 1984.
Death
Kennedy was found dead in his hotel in 1984 from an overdose of a number of substances, including cocaine and Demerol.
