He is the son of Jamier Ferrer Sapena and Pilar Ern Cholbi. He has a brother named Javier Ferrer Ern. He married his longtime girlfriend Marta Tornel in 2015.
Achievements
In addition to winning tournaments at multiple levels, such as ATP Tour 250, ATP Tour 500 and ATP Masters 1000*, he was a member of the Spain Davis Cup team that won the Davis Cup in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Trivia
His first coach Javier Piles once locked him up in a dark closet for several hours with little food and water because he was not practicing hard enough.
