David Bisbal, born David Bisbal Ferre, is a multiple award-winning Spanish pop star. He first gained fame by finishing second on the maiden show of Spain’s “Operación Triunfo”. Since then, he has achieved a successful musical career, touring Latin America and Europe and releasing several commercially successful albums.
Background & Early Life
Almeria, Spain is his birthplace. He attended secondary school at “IES Al-Andalus” but dropped out during his last year. He then worked in a greenhouse and flower nursery in Almeria. He later became the main singer of the “Orchestra Expressions” band in Almeria.
Career Highlights
After finishing second in the maiden edition of Spain’s “Operacion Triunfo”, he built on his initial fame and signed with “Vale Music Record label” in 2002. He then released his debut album, “Corazón Latino”, which topped the charts in Spain and was a 7-time platinum record by the summer of 2002.
In 2003, he won the “Best New Artist” at the Latin Grammy Awards. He is one of the most successful cross-over international singers. By 2021, he had released over a dozen studio and live albums, sold over six million records globally and performed at more than 200 concerts.
Marriage
As of 2021, he was married to Venezuelan actress Rosanna Zanetti.
