Family Life

He is the son of Charlotte and Abraham Aronofsky. He was once engaged to actress Rachel Weisz, with whom he fathered his first child in 2006.

Awards

The Wrestler won him numerous awards, including a Golden Lion Award during the 2008 Venice Film Festival and an Independent Spirit Award. The film also earned two Academy Award nominations.

Trivia

He caused outrage in Iran with his film The Wrestler, which was strongly condemned by the media in Iran. Many Iranians felt the film insulted their country by portraying it in a negative way.
