About Danny Rolling
Danny Rolling was notorious for having murdered eight people between November 1989 and August 1990. Five of his victims were college students at the University of Florida and the Santa Fe College, both of which are located in Gainesville, Florida.
He had been on a robbery and burglary spree in the city when he murdered and mutilated the bodies of the students (four of whom were females, petite, Caucasian and brunettes). Prior to the murder of these students, he had killed a 55-year-old man, his 24-year-old daughter and his 8-year-old grandson in Shreveport, Louisiana in November 1989.
Family Life
He was brought up in a toxic home, where his police officer father James Rolling physically abused his wife, Claudia and his two sons (his brother, Kevin being the other son).
Arrest and Sentencing
Following a tip-off, he was tried and sentenced to death in April 1994. He had pleaded guilty to all the charges. He was executed through lethal injection on October 25, 2006 shortly after he wrote a confession and apology letter.
