About Daniel O'Connell
Daniel O'Connell served the Roman Catholics of Ireland as a political leader. He got the opportunity to represent Clare (1828-1830) and Dublin City (1837-1841) in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Although he was unsuccessful in championing a separate Irish Parliament’s restoration, he became known for causes such as abolitionism.
