About Daniel Goldin
Daniel Goldin is a renowned American engineer who served as NASA’s Administrator between 1992 and 2001. He joined the organization in 1962, the same year he completed his college education. He was initially stationed at the Lewis Research Center.
Before being appointed as the administrator of the organization by George H. W. Bush, Goldin worked for the TRW Space and Technology Group located in Redondo Beach, California. In 2005, he established The Intellisis Corporation, a company that creates computational systems.
He has also worked with the California-based Neurosciences Institute, and the National Space Biomedical Research Institute.
Personal Life
He’s the brother of screenwriter Joshua Goldin. He married a lady known as Judy in 1962, and together they have two children.
Education
He is a product of City College of New York where he read mechanical engineering.
Achievements
Goldin is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and also the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering.
Trivia
He was the longest-serving NASA Administrator before leaving his role in 2001.
An Asteroid called 16529 Dangoldin was named after him.
