About Dan Peek
Dan Peek, a talented American musician, widely regarded as one of the most famous names of his days, was a pioneer in modern Christian music.
He rose to recognition as a member and co-founder of America, one of the 1970s' most gifted rock collectives.
Growing up with a huge desire for music, Peek started his career right out of high school by creating the aforementioned band with fellow music icons Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley. The band's smash hit "A Horse with No Name" propelled them to global recognition.
In 1977 Peek left the group to establish an individual career in the gospel genre. And in this genre the ex-America star went on to create a name for himself through the publication of numerous successful Christian music albums including "All Things Are Possible," "Cross Over," and "Doer of the Word.
Family & Education
He married Catherine Maberry from 1973 until he died in 2011.
Peek had his education at London Central Elementary High School and then continued at Old Dominion University.
Cause of Death
Peek’s death was caused by uremic pericarditis.
