Dan Fogelberg was an American rock singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter best remembered for such hits as Longer, Same Old Lang Syne and Leader of the Band.
Family Life
He was born to Margaret and Lawrence Peter Fogelberg. He grew up with two older brothers. He was married and divorced two times prior to his 2002 marriage to Jean Marie Mayer. He and Jean stayed together until his death in 2007. None of his three marriages produced any children.
Trivia
He wrote his 1981 hit song Leader of the Band as a tribute to his father.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004. In 2005, he announced that he had defeated the cancer. However, the disease came back in 2007 and claimed his life.
